Open source is changing the world - one pull request at a time. We are Ashpot are helping to pioneer that change through Hacktoberfest 2020 Aba

Hacktoberfest —  by DigitalOcean in partnership with Dev & Intel — is a month-long celebration of open-source software. In this open-source festival, contributors get the opportunity to give back to both projects they like and others they've just discovered. No contribution is too small — bug fixes and documentation updates are valid ways of participating.

Hacktoberfest encourages participation in the open-source community, which grows bigger every year. When you complete the 2020 challenge, you earn a limited-edition T-shirt.

Hacktoberfest is open to everyone. Whether you’re new to development, a student, a long-time contributor, or simply an open source enthusiast, you can help drive the growth of open source and make positive contributions to an ever-growing community. All backgrounds and skill levels are encouraged to complete the challenge.

This year, we are at Ashpot decide to join the global celebration of open source software by hosting the Hacktoberfest event here in Aba. The event will be streamed live through Zoom. Most of the speakers will be connecting and speaking to us through live streaming, and an open-source workshop will still be held physically that day at our tech hub in Aba

Rules and Reward

Open Source contribution isn't really about immediate rewards, but basically out of the passion to contribute to something that will make the world a better place. Nevertheless, participants at Hacktoberfest stand a chance to get a limited edition Hacktoberfest branded T-Shirt

To qualify for the official limited edition Hacktoberfest shirt, you must register and make four pull requests between October 1-31. Pull requests can be to any public repo on GitHub, not just the ones with issues labeled Hacktoberfest. If a maintainer reports your pull request as spam or spammy behavior, or not in line with the project’s code of conduct, you will be ineligible to participate.

Connect with other Hacktoberfest participants by using @DigitalOcean, @hacktoberfest, #hacktoberfest on your social media platform of choice.

The general Code of Conduct guiding the event can be found here.. Events Code of Conduct
