What is Data Science? Data science is a multi-disciplinary field that uses scientific methods, processes, algorithms and systems to extract knowledge and insights from structured and unstructured data. Simply put, if you are naturally intrigued by the mathematical and statistical side of programing, then Data Science is for you. The way we view data changed from the moment we realized that data isn't just a collection of facts lying dormant in a storage somewhere. Data can be so much more and it is certainly so much. Data represents experience, knowledge and intelligence. Studying data we can make forecast, predictions, decisions and not only can we do that as humans we can teach our computers to do the same things thereby increasing their processing and deductive powers by over a million percent. This year's Data Science Weekend will feature four talks: - Introduction to Data Science - Building Your First Robot - Making Cross-platform applications with Python - Becoming a Techpreneur, you can do it A training workshop session on three classes: - Beginning Python - Creating Web Applications with Django - Machine Learning with Anaconda Two panel sessions: - Women in Tech: Challenges and Opportunities - The Dynamicas of Data in the 21st Century Business And a Hackathon session Our speakers and panelists this year includes: - Psalms Kalu - Igbani Izuchukwu - Onyinyechi Nmecha - Kelvin Oyanna - Christiana Psalms Kalu - Alex Chikwendu - Thomas Lilian - Winifred Wachukwu - Okeakpu Gilbert - Enyinnaya Victor The event is going to serve as a means of demystifying the concept of Data Science and making it easy for interested persons and enthusiasts to key into. Venue is Ashpot HQ, 11 Nicholas Street beside Abia State Polytechnic Aba Date: Fri 21st - Sat 22nd June 2019 Time12:00pm We will bring you the full report of this event during and after.
