The past two days have been truly inspiring for the abia tech community, the journey began with a significant visit from the abia state commissioner for information technology, alongside top dignitaries and notable media houses such as Arisetv, Tvc news, and others. this visit was part of a broader tour aimed at exploring and supporting the state’s thriving tech ecosystem.

 

 

During the visit, our tech hub had the opportunity to showcase students undergoing training in various tech courses, demonstrating their commitment to mastering in-demand skills. additionally, startups incubated at the hub presented their groundbreaking solutions designed to tackle real-world challenges. The commissioner and dignitaries engaged deeply, gaining firsthand insight into the hub’s initiatives and the transformative impact being created in the industry. Their presence reinforced the critical role of technology in driving progress, and it was an honor to be part of such an essential engagement.

Among the startups showcased by our hub are: 

  1. Rhymes: it’s a music streaming platform designed to amplify the voice of local nigerian musicians,connecting them with fans and providing a platform to publish,gain valuable insights through advanced analytics while unlocking mutiple avenue to monetize their music and also rhymes is backed with blockchain to provide rewards for music lovers and enable artists convert their music into an NFT.
  2. Ugrr.net:it is a budding startup in abia that sells smart menus to hotels and restaurants while providing local ads to their site visitors. the smart menus can be scanned at the hotels and restaurants leading the visitors to a landing page on the ugrr.net website showing the menus of the hotel.

Following the hub tour, the momentum continued in umuahia at the abia technology and innovation network (ATIN) stakeholder roundtable, a landmark event celebrating a decade (2014-2024) of ecosystem growth. the roundtable brought together top government officials, tech leaders, investors, and media giants like arisetv, channels tv, and others, all focused on shaping the next phase of innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation in abia state.
